Investment Trust

An investment trust is a collective investment, like a unit trust or an OEIC, but structured and regulated differently. An investment trust is a closed-end fund that invests in shares of companies or fixed income securities. Its own share price does not necessarily reflect the value of its assets. When the net asset value per share exceeds the share price, it is trading at a discount and when the NAV/share falls below the share price, it is trading at a premium.
